Überblick

The Grete Hermann Network (GHN) is an international network of female researchers in condensed matter physics that is comprised of both junior researchers and experienced professors, and is associated with the Cluster of Excellence ctd.qmat – Complexity, Topology and Dynamics in Quantum Matter, which is funded by the German federal government. At the heart of the network's mission is the goal to promote excellent female-led research and support the recruitment and careers of female scientists within the field. To achieve this, the GHN provides networking and mentoring opportunities, increases visibility of female senior scientists as role models, and creates a comprehensive pool of female researchers in view of future hirings.

The Grete Hermann Network’s biannual workshop at TU Dresden is a dynamic gathering for condensed matter physicists of all genders, career levels, and research areas. Over three days, participants will enjoy thought-provoking scientific talks – delivered exclusively by accomplished women researchers – alongside interactive discussions, networking sessions, and informal events. The workshop fosters collaboration, community, and innovation in quantum matter physics, creating a welcoming space for the exchange of ideas and professional growth. Whether presenting research, connecting with peers, or gaining new perspectives, attendees will find this event an inspiring platform for advancing science together.
