Elevate Your Research Journey with the QMA
The Quantum Matter Academy provides comprehensive support for early-career scientists across the ctd.qmat. Bringing together PhD students and postdocs from Würzburg and Dresden, the QMA fosters collaboration, community, and growth. Through retreats, workshops, lectures, and external schools, it builds lasting connections between research groups and empowers both scientific excellence and professional development.
dei Commitee
Advancing Excellence Through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At ctd.qmat, diversity is a key driver of excellent research. Through our DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) Committee, we are strengthening clear structures in our second funding period to foster a fair, transparent, and inclusive research environment. We are committed to actively incorporating diverse perspectives and ensuring equal opportunities for all talents — regardless of background, gender, disability, family responsibilities, or cultural context. Our goal is to create an environment in which every member of ctd.qmat feels respected, supported, and empowered to fully develop their potential and contribute to our shared scientific mission.
Grete Hermann Network
Empowering Women in Quantum Research
The Grete Hermann Network (GHN) is an international initiative by ctd.qmat that connects women researchers in condensed-matter physics and related fields — from students and postdocs to group leaders and professors. It promotes mentoring, networking, visibility, and collaboration across Würzburg and Dresden through seminars, workshops, guest stays, and informal exchanges that support career development and inclusion in academia.
