Summary
Flat band systems have emerged as as a rapidly developing research area in condensed matter physics. From strongly correlated electronic phases to topological phenomena and unconventional superconductivity, flat bands provide a powerful platform for exploring interaction-driven quantum states. This workshop will focus on recent theoretical and experimental advances in flat band physics from the perspective of early-career researchers working in the field.
Topics:
-
- Novel quantum phases and emergent phenomena in flat band systems
- Kagome and other frustrated lattice systems
- Moiré heterostructures and twisted multilayers
- Interplay of quantum geometry, topology, and electron correlations
The conference program features 26 talks (6 invited and 20 contributed) organized into four thematic blocks, highlighting both theoretical and experimental advances in Flat Band Physics. Invited talks are 50 minutes long, starting with a 20-minute pedagogical introduction, followed by a 20-minute presentation of the speaker’s own work, and 10 minutes for questions. Contributed talks are 20 minutes long, with 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. All participants will have the opportunity to present their research during a poster session at the end of the first day.
